Watch video below description!
Most of my pottery is on the more rigid & refined side of things but every once in a while its a lot of fun to loosen up when in the studio.
A few month back I decided to explore in the studio and throw off the hump for one of the first times. I kept my wheel speed slow and forced myself to accentuate the throwing marks I normally try to limit. It brought me a lot of joy and I quite liked the resulting pots
Here’s one of the little sippers from that batch of hump thrown pots that was fired in Dave Stuempfles wood kiln for 120 hours
Height 3.5”
Width 3.5”
Capacity 8 of oz
